Freedom of the press is one of the most vital pillars of a free and just society. A free press holds power accountable, amplifies silenced voices, and serves the public interest. We, a group of activists and advocates, believe this without reservation.

But freedom of the press is not unlimited — and it was never meant to be. It does not confer a license to publish false statements of fact. It does not shield a journalist who encourage others to engage in unethical and unlawful conduct and then commence public smear campaigns against them when those demands are refused. It does not protect conduct that crosses from journalism into coercion, harassment, and probable criminal wrongdoing. And it does not — in any legal or moral framework — protect deliberate lies.

This site exists to pierce that veil.

Silja J.A. Talvi describes herself publicly as an investigative journalist. This site examines what that label conceals: a documented pattern of false statements published as confirmed fact; misrepresentations about named individuals — including advocates, activists and, attorneys— broadcast publicly to cause maximum harm; including confidential materials, followed by retaliatory defamation when those demands were refused; proposals to circumvent federal prison regulations; and conduct that, upon the evidence, crosses well beyond the bounds of lawful journalism.

The irony is not lost on us that Talvi has long claimed to champion prisoners, the marginalized, and the silenced. The record documents something different: a years-long campaign of targeted harassment and false accusation directed at individuals who refused to comply with her demands — including an people who work and represent those very communities she claims to serve.

Truth matters. Especially when a person wears the journalist's badge while wielding it as a weapon.
